Re: Blank screen

I guess this is a good example of why the BPS format is a good idea (as opposed to IPS) -- it stores checksum information, so a BPS patch intended for Power wouldn't work if you try to apply it to Speed.

Re: (Incomplete) Telefang English Translation

First things first: Here's a new patch out. It repositions sprite-based cursors on the link screen. I used BGB to find the code, and it turns out that it's possible to link two games with BGB! You need two instances of BGB open for this -- on one window, choose Listen and use the default setting. On...

Re: beeep-beeep, robot reporting

I know that the GameShark code works on VBA 1.7.2 (although it doesn't emulate the GameShark perfectly), but I recall hearing that it doesn't work on other emulators (such as VBA-M, and perhaps BGB) or on real hardware.

Also, welcome to the forums, Punica-9000!

Re: Denjuu personality

If the data is in the A000-BFFF range in RAM like the other Denjuu are, that will make things difficult. Can the GameShark access RAM in this range? I've only seen it access C000-DFFF in RAM, but then again, maybe I simply haven't seen any cases where it accesses A000-BFFF. And is it possible to mak...

Re: (Incomplete) Telefang English Translation

Wow, it's been a long time since I last worked on this. First of all, the patch is more complete that I recall, where the text is more funcional than I remember. I know it still needs work, though, and... Well, even though I've spent some time hacking other games besides Telefang lately, I now have ...

Re: Strange glitch

VBA-M emulates the clock correctly, so you can play it from 12:00am-12:59am without problems. I'm not sure what happens in BGB or any other emulator. Alternately, in VBA (not VBA-M), you can switch to Game Boy mode for an hour, since it doesn't load the color palettes. Also, as a random point, in Po...

Re: Chinese Pokemon Jade (new title screen?)

I didn't notice this thread when you first posted this, but a few weeks ago, a YouTube user named NusuttoSan (also known as Qiezei elsewhere) uploaded a video of a Chinese Jade bootleg that is similar to what you described. You can find the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uIGIvIUA05A Thi...

Re: Introducing the Telefang Map Dumper

I decided to update this tool a bit. The main change here is that instead of outputting PGM or PPM files, it now outputs PNG files! So viewing the images is easier now. Not to mention, the file sizes are smaller and now there is transparency to indicate out-of-bounds map acres. I honestly didn't thi...

Re: An intro palette fix for Diamond/Jade, as well as a title screen crash fix for Diamond!

Yes, I have another bug-fixing patch now... this time, it fixes three bugs in Diamond and one in Jade. It fixes the palette in the intro for both games, and in Diamond, it also fixes the crashing that occurs after the Game Over screen, as well as pressing A+B+Select+Start. (Jade doesn't have the lat...
