What's the full name of F.D.?

The game's instruction manual calls FD "friendship level" (shinmitsu do), where the "do" means points/level/whatever. I always assumed the D was from that, and the F was from friendship. It really doesn't make sense though, and they could have just as easily called it FP for friendship points... Hence the joke that it actually stands for "doints".
