The music in the game you mentioned does sound very similar to Telefang 1. Whether they've used the same sound engine, I couldn't say for sure. The NES uses a different engine to the GBC but the orchestration and some of the instruments are definitely similar. I wonder if it's just Natsume's music ...

That sounds alot like the sound engine in Telefang!

Hi there! I'm moviemovies1 and I am a Telefang fan (although I haven't come very far in the game). I like Telefang 1 best, because there I can actually seem to get a little further in the game. And the music in the game is Awesome
