The (Not ) Definitive Telefang 1 Translation Topic

Hm...I think you're right, because it works when I change the page display encoding to another.
What do you use to type your Japanese?

Alright...
For Krypto's entry:
Nandemo kirisaku katai tsume de kougeki suru.
"It attacks with hard claws that can cut through anything."
Its attacks:
Tosshin = Rush or charge. Rush works best, I think.
Funki = To stir or rouse oneself. Invigorate looks like the best synonym. Enliven wasn't incorrect, but it did sound kind of engrishy. XD
For Fungus's:
Subayasa de teki wo honrou shi tsuno wo tsukatte kougeki suru.
I got "It mocks enemies with its speed and attacks them with its horn."
(Subayasa means speed, teki is enemy, honrou means to tease or make fun of, and shi is a funky word for and.)
Its attacks:
Naguru = Strike or hit. Strike is good.
Supiido = Speed. XD
...So the translated entries do give more info, after all.
This is going to be awesome!
Thank you very much for the screenshots. I'll add these to the main posts~
I'm also curious how you get your japanese to work, though. *nod*

Re: The (Not ) Definitive Telefang 1 Translation Topic
This should be in the Wikifang board, not here.
Though it would be good if you can keep as many of the names down to 8 characters or less since long names have to be cut down to 8 characters and that never looks good. ENLIVEN worked better because it kept under the limit. Invigorate will have to be renamed to INVGRATE to work in the game, which looks rather ugly. Though I do agree that Enliven is a bit engrishy, have you got any other ideas for that attack name?

I don't know how my Japanese works, but my encoding used in this browser is Western (ISO-8859-1). The typing of Japanese is through the Windows language settings.
Anyway my translation efforts were somewhat there  lol. I'll get more screenshots tomorrow
You can use INVIGOR for Funki.

You could probably shorten "invigorate" to VIGOR in the patch. XD It gets the same idea across.
Anyway, the reason this is in Telefang 1 and not the Wikifang board is that we're sort of planning to make one for Telefang 2 when this one is finished.
Also we hoped this would be useful for translation patches as well as the wiki.

Hm...do you use a browser other than Internet Explorer? I guess we'll have to keep experimenting, but that helps. XD Even copy-pasting the Japanese text from your post breaks it for me. Once we get it working we'll add the Katakana names to the main post.wrote:I don't know how my Japanese works, but my encoding used in this browser is Western (ISO-8859-1). I use Firefox. Go Firefox!
Anyway I think my encoding auto-detect was off, I just turned it on. Dunno.

Yup, looks like it was Firefox after all. Freaking Firefox. I hate Firefox. D:
We'll be adding the kana to the entries now, I guess. XD The picture links will stay there for the people without japanese text support.

Then do you use IE? Noooo...
IE gets the most viruses and malware. I only use IE for testing my web designs. Heh. And IE is still more buggy than Firefox.
Yay for Firefox again! =)
Off topic... -.-
P.S. For Reform evolution you changed it to mod evolution right? So do I like update the wiki with that info straight away?

Re: The (Not ) Definitive Telefang 1 Translation Topic
All of this information should be fine to go in the wiki now.Milnivri wrote:P.S. For Reform evolution you changed it to mod evolution right? So do I like update the wiki with that info straight away?
If we change our minds on anything we can change it in the wiki too, but I don't think that will happen very much.

The only thing I'm not sure about is "Orshay" because we can't find a name origin, so it'll probably be spelled different when we do. <_<
