Land Rover brake warning came on, where do I go near Al Safa?
Yesterday a brake warning message popped up on the dash of my Land Rover Discovery while I was driving home near Al Safa, and it gave me a small scare. The car still stops fine, but the message has stayed on since then. It has about eighty five thousand kilometres, and I think the pads are still the original ones. A neighbour says the sensor is just a cheap part and the pads are probably fine. A friend says that message means the pads are worn and I should not wait. I do not know who to believe. I looked online for a Reliable Land Rover brake garage near Al Safa, but every page said the same thing, so I still do not know what a proper check should include. What does a good garage look at first, the pads, the discs or the sensor? Can the warning come from low brake fluid instead? Is it normal for them to scan the car and clear the message after the job? Do the discs have to be changed at the same time on a heavy SUV like this? Is it safe to drive a few days until I get an appointment? Also, how long does the job take, and what should it cost? If your Land Rover showed the same warning, please tell me what the cause was, what you paid, and what you would do differently. Easy answers help me most.
