That's just... awesome! So right now, it just reads the first eight characters?

You're making such a great progress o:

XD This is so freaking cool. XD Good job~

Now, this is pretty annoying, but would it ever be possible to change the layout of the battle and status screens? D: If you compare japanese and english Pokemon GSC, that's exactly what they did, but they probably had more to work with than us... <_<; I think it's something to consider, anyway... *sigh*

I guess it is possible, but just an example, for choosing the move, it would require a lot of repointing, for creating the message box, putting the moves in the right place, the little arrow thingy too, plus adding left/right movement... And all that only to add one or two characters to the move? There wouldn't be much space anyways...

But, let's hope someday Andwhy will be able to do that! XD

That's cool how you got that to work! Did you move all the Denjuu names over to the next bank? I think the proportional width font is still necessary for some areas, though, because redesigning every screen will be a pain in the neck (the D-Shot screen comes to mind with places like scrolling through the picture book, for example). Of course, doing that will be very difficult... but at least this is a start...

And if you moved all the Denjuu names over, did you add 4 extra characters for each Denjuu?

And it would be cool if that could be done with items too (like Propeller)... and moves...

I duplicated the function to write the name to ram except the new one used the previously empty bank 77, then I redirected the call for anything name related.

No. Not yet.

The next thing I hope to find is the function that calculates the start of each Denjuu's name. Currently it is still set to 8 bytes between the start of each name, so the last 4 characters of the first name happens to also be the first 4 characters of the next name.

I made a changelog for the patch on the wiki.
Here it is: http://telefang.wikia.com/wiki/Wikifang:Te...anslation_Patch
I hope it's going to be useful for tracking changes.

By the way, Andwhy, how's it coming? I seriously wish you had some IM...

Ran into the 8-char name entry limit, so I gave up on the idea for now. :(

I've been experimenting with ideas every now and again, but I have mostly been doing other things. Though I should try hacking again over the weekend.

p.s. The fastest way to talk to me at the moment is via PM or posting. I am usually quite active, except when sleeping.

Atecian: Yes. That's unfinished. Right now, 90% of the text is unreadable. But that'll be fixed over time.
Andwhy: Yeah, though I find chatting over PMs... uh, not very usable and practical? Yeah. I mean, using IMs, you can chat in real-time, and you still dont hav 2 uze chatspeek. XD And I dunno about you, but I'm not checking Tulunk for PMs all the time when I have internet.
It's all fine, though. I'm just not used to it.

EDIT: I'm really interested in what did you try and how all the assembly works, that's why I wanted to chat with you, about that... XD
