Actually, if we are going to change the font, I liked the one Kimbles made for the patch in this topic:

Power Version Patch v26:
http://www.mediafire.com/?m20nj14t0wx

I changed the font to Kimbles' font, cleaned up some code, cleaned up the look of the denjuu names so that it doesn't look ugly, updated the denjuu names to match the wiki, and skipped three versions.

Though I didn't have the time to test it thoroughly, so if you see any double characters outside of Denjuu names can you please tell me.

Awesome!
I found a text bug, though. When winning a battle, it says "Denjuu got X point[YP]s[UL] of Exp.!", where the [YP] and [UL] are double characters. I guess there should be brackets, but it's not really necessary, because you never get only 1 exp anyways.
Also, which code did you clean up? :o *curious*

EDIT: Awww! You changed the double character "IC" into "NR"... Now all my Denjuu that had nickname like MACHRIC or TULBAIC make no sense, haha! XD
Also, Wikifang'd.

EDIT2: Oh, and please remember to change the T-Fanger ISOLATE to KAKUZA. It bothers me too much...

EDIT3: Another text bug - an unknown move is shown as THTHTHTH instead of ????.
EDIT4: On the phonebook, when selecting Denjuu to take into battle, there's double character UM instead of a slash between the current and maximum page.

The E5 code words were reading as asm code, so I made a jump from before the text until towards the end of the free space, so the game will only read the text into the message box and not use it for anything else. It wasn't causing any problems, but it could have if we added more words and it wasn't fixed.

In the interest of adding to the wiki:
v23 and v24 contained the fix for the E5 code words but aside from that they were mostly failed attempts.
v25 contained Kimbles font and that E5 code word fix (which I pulled from v24). I was set to release v25, but I waited until v26 was done instead.
v26 contains the rest of the updates I mentioned.

You wrote "23-27" instead of "23-25" btw.

Yes sir! *salutes*

I'll look into it as soon as possible.

v27:
http://www.mediafire.com/?wfwonznomzy

Made the promised fixes and made the attack list header read "Moves" as a bonus. :D

Alright!
... The funny thing is I just got 1 points of exp. :D
But I think it's better anyways. It's not like you're going to be defeating levels 5 with your level 99 often, and the brackets don't look good.
Everything looks fine, though! Good job.

Oh, and if you ever ASM hack again, I believe this will be useful: http://www.datacrystal.org/wiki/Keitai_Den...Map#Misc._Stuff... I found a lot of memory locations where the game stores on which menu choice are you on.

EDIT: I'm sorry! I found another bug! There's an extra blank line in this battle text:
"The enemy's ally

will be late to battle!"

I don't think that it is related to the double characters, but I will take a look anyway.

I can't believe I forgot this.

To learn z80 assembly:

And if you want to edit asm directly from hex:

I know, but it should probably be fixed.

Awesome, the patch is being worked on again! I didn't have much time to look at it, but there were a few things I noticed:

1. I'm not sure whether the attack/arrive phrases have been properly translated yet, but I noticed that Mummyboar's attack phrase has wrapping issues.

Image
(Ignore the glitched nickname -- I carried the save over from an old Diamond save)

Speaking of which, those ought to be translated. Some of them will be really hard due to the 16-character limit, though. But it will be better than Diamond/Jade's translations.

2. Some Denjuu are marked with ???????? for some reason.

Image

I don't really understand how this happened, but it has...

3. Any letter that has a tail at the bottom of it (g, j, p, q, y) seems like it's scrunched up. I looked at the tile viewer and there's room to extend these letters, which would most likely look better.

4. Denjuu over 8 characters long seem to be scrunched up to the point where there's too much padding at either the left or right, which is weird because it makes spaces extra long, or when there's stuff after it (like 's), there are unnecessary spaces after it.

I'll look at the patch some more later on, though. I'll have time to do that later today.
