Come on, if you really want to, then create another patch that is more similar to Pokemon. This patch that we're working on is to
translate the Japanese version, nothing else.
Or you can also hack a Pokemon ROM to have Telefang elements. We can understand your intentions, it's just that this is the wrong patch for you.

I'm actually probably going to end up using "___ used ___!" but only because of space constraints.

The japanese text inside buildings is actually two kanji, and they basically say "out of range". "No reception" would probably also work. XD I'll leave it up to you to find a way to shorten it...
Done.
Your image is 32x16 in size, which is too long. It needs to be 24x16. Even if I strip off the lines on the left (which you don't even need), it's still too long. So, I need one with the proper size...
Though, since this makes it even harder to scrunch up the text, you could probably use an image to signify "No signal" instead. Like a crossed out phone, or just the reception bar with no bars.
EDIT: Here's one I whipped up.
Better?
Also,
the telefang manga thread asks an important question. "Krypto" or "Crypto"?

It's great! I added it in!
Here's the new version of the patch... and here are the changes I made:
- When viewing the D-Shot on a regular Game Boy, it loads different tilesets (from $1E4000-$1E7FFF, as opposed to $1EC000-$1EFFFF). I redesigned the buttons, but I only did them for the monochrome Game Boy so that we could still have the already existing ones. So, try playing the game in Game Boy mode to see if you like these new buttons better.
- Added "ISOLATE" as a T-Fanger.
- Added the "NO SIGNAL" icon on the bottom left.
- Changed "___'s attack! ___!" to "___ used ___!" because of the text length issue.
EDIT: I swear the patches keep getting longer and longer in filesize.

Since the ips patch records the differences between original and modified roms I would suggest that for each change we make the filesize will grow.
Also I recommend the use of those new buttons, much neater.

One question: I've always been wondering, why is it called Menu Patch? ^^;

It doesn't make too much of a difference if you use similar battle comands from the Pokemon game.
As for my mission. I don't plan a mere patch, I plan on a whole new game.
But for this, you could at least add the box monsters and Pikachu to make the game more interesting.
I already made the sprites:
Nothing big.........
As for the whole Krypto/Crypto thing, well there's nothing cryptic about him, so let's leave it as Krypto.

Because it was originally meant as a menu patch. Once we start focusing on dialogue we will call it "Power Version Dialogue Patch v1".

1. Yes it does make a difference. That is the opinion of Blaziken257, Kimbles, and myself.
2. Well fire up that hex editor if you want to make your own patch. I'll teach you the basics if you want.
3. We can't add extra monsters at the moment and if we could we wouldn't.
4. As above. But your jade version serpent is quite nicely done. What should we call it?
5. Sorry but this is a translation of the Japanese version, nothing more. No bootleg elements, no pokemon elements, just Telefang, nothing more.
6. Crypto is the official name by the looks, we have nothing on the name Krypto, it was the closest name we could use until now.

Well you're shorting out Telefang pretty cheap. Telefang was invisible without Pokemon. There are other problems in Telefang, like the many unecessary evo's. The whole game needs to be reformed. And I don't like how you guys are coming at me, like I ever did anything to you guys. I guess it's in the nature of otakus to lash or come down hard on anyone with vision, but I digress......... <_<
And why not add any of these monsters period?
As for the diamond serpent, I dub him, Kosuiryu (Lake Dragon)!
As for the jade deer, I dub him, Jurigami (Forest God)!

As andwhyisit already said, there's no way to add more Denjuu.
And this is Telefang. Let's just keep it as Telefang.
