Just wondering if anyone here has ever heard of, or played the great Ys series games. They were first released in 1987 on PC-8801, and have an absolutely outstanding album of music. Falcom are in the process of releasing Ys Seven. I'm hoping they remake some more of the titles for DS like they did with Legacy of Ys.

There is also Ys Online which was launched a few weeks ago, and an Anime series from the 90's. It's pretty old, but that's why it's so rare to find now.

In the series, there are:
1987- Ys I: Ancient Ys Vanished (PC-8801)
1988- Ys II: The Final Chapter (PC-8801)
1989- Ys III: Wanderers from Ys (PC-8801/9801)
1993- Ys IV: Mask of the sun (Super Famicom)
1995- Ys V: Kefin, The Lost city of sand (Super Famicom)
2003- Ys VI: The Ark of Napishtim (Microsoft Windows/PS2)
2006- Ys Origin (Microsoft Windows)
2009- Ys Seven [Still to be released](PSP)

I can't believe it took them eight years to come up with another game >.<

They are action RPGs.
You play as Adol, who by accident has found himself the center of an ancient prophecy told by the Six Priests and Two Goddesses of Ys. It was once a peaceful land, until beasts began to spread.

Unfortunately, most of the games are in Japanese only (much like any other good RPG) with communities releasing Menu-only patches. Until Falcom decides to bring more titles to Europe and NA, right now we only have Ys VI, I and II in full english.
I've got Ark of Napishtim for PS2, and wanting to buy Origin and Legacy soon, but they're rare

Ys VI is also for psp. There is also an upcoming psp remake of Ys 1&2 (can't wait for that one). You forgot to include Ys IV: The Dawn of Ys btw (not to be confused with Mask of the sun).

I like very much Ys ^_^, but in Spain is not unknown
The opening of psp game is the best =D

All I know about Ys is that there's this one awesome song and then the rest of the songs are
