I think (3,3) is a Kabutops rather than a Scyther if you look closely at its back and pose.

Eighth row, third column: This looks familiar to me, but I don't know why.

its venmoth from pokemon... a MOTH pokemon (i know i didnt spell his name correct)

The 6th row and 5th column is an enemy from Yoshi's Island. I'm guessing they most probably ripped it from the SNES version of the game.

Well, it seems like it's been a long time since this topic has been posted in, but I thought i'd add some most recent things i've found:

Also from the above walkthrough, it seems that Shi Kong Xing Shou really did borrow a few times from Devil Children regarding the sprites, as I spotted Wyvern http://megamitensei.wikia.com/wiki/File:Wyvern.JPG and Konton http://megamitensei.wikia.com/wiki/Konton and Arche http://megamitensei.wikia.com/wiki/Arche. There was possibly a second edit of one Devil Children sprite that had already been used for another monster as well. Gymnos' sprite had also been edited for one Minotaur based minion.
