XD Wooo, I finally got an email back and it looks like the payment went smoothly, now all that's left is waiting for the items to arrive in japan so they can be shipped here, which should be another week and a bit. XD *sigh*

The paypal account is set up now, but I won't post it until we know how much the total after international shipping is, anyway... *nod*

Aw man, you guys are pretty cool. ;-;

Considering the amount, I think I'll wait till everyone else has donated and just pay the rest.

Haha, oh gawd, we just got the shipping total. >___>

I want to preface this by saying, when I estimated the shipping at $30-50 I was picturing magazines in the usual sense of the word. Kinda thin, floppy?

Kimbles and Wikipedia just set me straight.
Wikipedia page for Comic Bom Bom wrote:Each issue has 700+ pages, with 80 of them being full-color advertisements.
They are like manga phonebooks.
And shipping is by weight.

:o

So yeah. Apparently the package weighs 4.3 kg (4300 g), which according to This Shipping Chart for the site works out to 8200 yen, which Celga is translating (very liberally >_>) to $120 CAD.

So the total for the transaction came out to:

Items: $29 CAD
Fees: $36 CAD
Shipping: $120 CAD .....:(

Total: $185 CAD

So much for it being less than expected...>_>

We hardly expect you guys to try to cover all of that. That's fine. You can see why we need your help, though...

I finally got my paypal set up, though I haven't tried it, so I can just hope it works.
Address is amira_kat (at) hotmail.com. Replace (at) with @ of course.

Thanks for your support, even if you can't actually send anything. The idea counts. :)

Just sent $106.06 CAD. That leaves only $78.94 CAD left for everyone else to worry about.

Oh great.

I'll try to send some money later through my father. Still, it may be only very small contribution, if any...

Wait... how will you be able to scan it if it is somewhere around 700 pages?

Okay, just donated 15 CAD.

It's not much, but it's something...

Well, ideally we won't be scanning all of it...? XD
But yeah, we won't really know how easy it is to scan until it arrives, since it depends on how floppy the spine is... >_>; If it's anything like a phone book, it should be alright, and if not we'll figure something out. XD

XD Thank you so much, everyone. ^^

Only $63.94 CAD left now.

Though it might be interesting if we find something a translation group is after and trade the RAWs for some translation work on the T1 manga.
