Re: Papercraft!
I've been really interested in learning how to make papercraft lately, so naturally I wanted to include Telefang in that...
Here is my first completed pattern, Waratah!
(it was hard to take a photo of him at a good angle so here's a screenshot of the 3D model - http://racieb.meowcorp.us/etc/papercraft/wamodel.png)
Lined PDO - PDF
Unlined PDO - PDF
(PDO files are to be opened in Pepakura Viewer, which is free and can be downloaded here.)

RacieB, your a genius!
I guess you're going to have a hard time with Krypto and Fangus, but Teletel and Dendel shouldn't be too hard.
I'm looking at the model and i'm thinking, something like this should be in the Macy's Thanksgivings Day Parade.

Re: Papercraft!
I was considering Teletel and Dendel just because they're so simplistic, but with their little pointy legs it'd be nearly impossible to get them to stand on their own without being glued to some sort of support, and I haven't felt like designing one yet XP
Krypto and Fungus probably shouldn't be too tricky to make eventually, I already made a Mightyena from scratch for a contest - http://racieb.meowcorp.us/etc/papercraft/migh-progress3.png
Also, I actually made a Suguri before the Waratah but I'm having trouble getting it into a buildable pattern, here's the model though:

Re: Papercraft!
Whoa, amazing! I still have no idea how you pull that off...
Re: Papercraft!
I've been using Blender, it's pretty powerful and it's completely free (unlike something like 3ds Max that costs thousands of dollars x__x)
There are tons of tutorials available for it, but it's kinda tricky to learn how to use just by reading things, I've mostly been figuring tricks out via trial and error XP

Good point. That method always works fine.RacieB wrote: I've been using Blender, it's pretty powerful and it's completely free (unlike something like 3ds Max that costs thousands of dollars x__x)

Re: Papercraft!
XD Haha, I saw these on Deviantart...XD The Waratah turned out a lot better than I expected... You'd think that the models would have to be way more chunky to work at all. ^^; I dunno if I'll build the Waratah, but I'm really looking forward to the other Denjuu you make. XD
...In fact, when I first saw the models for these, I was suddenly inspired to make my own Godetia papercraft. :O

Re: Papercraft!
Argh, I keep forgetting I was gonna draw some Godetias for you, I've been so artblocked for drawn stuff but I bet I could model one fairly easily..
Also, I tried to design Waratah specifically so he'd be easy to build, the only tricky parts in my opinion were figuring out the toes and gluing the last piece of the butt on XP Plus, after seeing the manga, I'm pretty amused that I made him lifesized >__> I should make a lifesized Punica too, it'd be so easy.

No offense, but that looks like some 3rd grade arts & craft mini-assignment.Kimbles wrote: XD Haha, I saw these on Deviantart...XD The Waratah turned out a lot better than I expected... It hardly looks like a 3-D papercraft.
