What is it?

I replaced all katakana and hiragana (kana) with romaji letters.
Hiragana is one pixel higher then katakana. Expect for he, pe, be and ri, these are in full height (same in both kanas).
I DID do "small kana". It's still a bit strange, so you have to translate that yourself, e.g. denji+yu means denjuu.

That is all. Download the patch version 1.1 here. Apply to a clean Telefang Power ROM.

I double checked and it's pretty nicely aligned in the rom, but it's still possible that I made a mistake. Please tell me if you found any. Thanks!

Small kana is kinda possible, maybe lowercase alphabets in small size? Except for the small tsu though..

he and pe are also shared, along with be.

Also, the single letter-kana (i.e. a, i, u, e, o, n) can be made the same width as the other letters to make it a little more readable.

The S is a little too much to the right.

I may do a patch alongside this one that'll do the small kana like you said, but I'd like to keep this one too...

Oh yeah, he, pe and be are big too.

If I'd make the single-letter kana same size as the other ones, there'd be huge spaces between letters.

The S is like that because I can't fit it in there. Remember, I only changed the font.

That's just a meme, sorry ^_^

What I did, as I said in the first post, is rewriting the Japanese symbols with latin (english) letters. That means the overall game will be easier to properly read and/or translate. For me atleast.
