Re: Player's guide scans.

I've been asked about it in other topics, but I figured I should make this one...

Here is where I will post scans of the japanese player's guide for Telefang. I got my copy used off of amazon.co.jp, and I would not recommend anyone else try it. ;-; The prices are deadly for any service that ships outside japan. If there's any part of the book in particular that you want to see, feel free to ask and I will scan it. *nod* It's your standard player's guide with a walkthrough, maps of all of the areas, detailed information about the gameplay, and a monster index. It's walls of japanese text for the most part though, so I'll be focusing mostly on scanning the pieces of official art. XD (Edit: Scratch that, I'm scanning all of it.)

Some of the pages are crooked, mostly the ones on the left side. D: Sorry about that, but it's the best I can do. *nod*
I'll upload scans at 50% size. Here's what I've got so far (up to page 25):

Slip-off cover
Underneath the cover is the same but in greyscale. It reads left-to-right like a normal book, unlike manga. XD Note that the pictures on the back are also used in the intro animations, all except for fungus...

Inside cover flap - Front - Back
The back one just has ads for other player's guides.

Page 3 - Contents
There's no page 1 or 2, so I'm guessing this is 3...

Page 4 - Characters
"Shigeki's trusted companions".

Page 5 - Characters
"Friend or foe!? Mysterious characters". All of these pictures appeared in the manuals as well, except for Sanaeba's, which is from the manga (and coloured).

Page 6 - Basic system info - Versions
Lists the differences between Power and Speed.
(Shigeki: You'll never succeed if you don't know the basics!!)

Page 7 - Basic system info - D-shot
The different functions of the D-shot...

Page 8 - Basic system info - Denjuu
Denjuu stats and evolution stages.

Page 9 - Basic system info - Denjuu
Denjuu types and personalities. That picture for the type match-ups would be way better on the wiki than a chart...

Page 10 - Basic system info - Telefang
About Telefang (battles).

Page 11 - Basic system info - Evolution
Talks about the different methods of evolution.

Page 12 - Basic system info - FAQ
A question and answer section with Shigeki and Miyo. The questions are "I keep losing whenever I reach a new town!?" (be prepared), "Is there a way of levelling up easier?" (use phone cards and exp. items), "My Denjuu's HP isn't recovering!?" (mash B outside of battle), and "What the hell are Denma attacks?" (blah blah).

Page 13 - Walkthrough starts here
A sprite map of the Denjuu world with all of the towns labeled. *nod* The picture above it is based on the characters from the manga.
(Crypto: I wanna go back to Toronko village!
Shigeki: I wanna go to the ruins!!
Gymnos: We have to go to Baran next, though...
Waratah: Go Crypto!)

I've also scanned a couple pages of the Denjuu index and am willing to PM anyone with them (they're in greyscale), but I probably won't post them here because they're too large to upload, and, yknow, japanese. The translation topic will have all of the information once I get around to it. D: Sorry!

After looking though the book for all of the official art to scan, it looks like there's enough of it that I might as well just scan the whole thing. D: I've posted up to page 25, which is just before Freesia. *nod*

Impressive work, both of you guys. Honestly, it never occurred to me that there would be a player's guide for Telefang, but I usually forget that most games DO.
I always wondered what one would look like, and its pretty intresting to see a foreign player's guide as well.

And those colored pictures from the index (at least I assume that's where they're from) look really good, even if they don't look exactly like the official art.

And if you don't mind Kimbles, could you PM me a page or two from the Denju Index? I'm curious to see what they look like. Thanks! ^^
