There's two major problems with using "Denji" as a singular form of "Denjuu".
1. Denjuu is both the singular and plural term. I don't need to find an example, simply because this is how the entire Japanese language works. As a rule, they don't have different terms for plural and singular at all. It's just implied by context.
If English worked like Japanese: One cat would be "cat". Plural cats would be either "many cat" or "cat".
Thus, any Japanese word used in English will be both plural and singular. One sushi, ten sushi. One geisha, three geisha. One Pokémon, 150 Pokémon.
2. The simple fact is that "Denji" means something totally different. XD
"Denji" is the Japanese word for electromagnetism. "Denjuu" is a combination of "Den" which means "electricity" and "Juu" which means "animal/beast". See the problem?
It would be like calling Pokémon "pocket monsters" when plural and "pocket lint" when singular.
Alternatively, having the plural of "dog" as "microwave".
It makes no sense at all. Sorry. XD

I've been working on putting text from Kimbles's text dump into the patch, and I'm 90% done with it! I need to take a break from doing this now, though, because it's been taking me forever and I'm getting exhausted now. I may finish this part by tomorrow!

無し:No (I think it's the Yes/No dialogs)
あります:Kinda the verb for "exist", but its usage is very wide. It can be used in cases like ____ が(is) あります which means ___ "exists". It's like a verb-to-be also. Hard to explain... depends on the context in which it's used.

The item screen one says "No item", so that'll be easy... The mail screen one says

if you can fit that in....*nod* The kanji next to the number isn't necessary in english by the way, so if you find it you can just make it blank... It shouldn't be used elsewhere in the game. *nod*

I finished it! Finally! I mostly added things in the text dump, and boy did it take me forever! Everything I've tested out seems to work fine, though. While I did some thorough testing, I haven't had time to test every single line (partly because there are so many, and partly because there are some that I've never even seen before!) So, I need some of you to test further.
- Look for text wrapping issues (where words start on on
e line a
nd end on ano
ther, like in the fake Pokémon Green).
- Look for any Yes/No questions that get cut off (sometimes you are limited to two lines).
- Look for other quirks (like if it displays the wrong text, glitchy text, or cuts off the beginning) in case I messed up any pointers at all (I checked this a lot, though...) An example in the bootleg is when you beat Dipusaks (I don't remember the real name), Kai says "ll well. A man named SANARBA asked me to do so.", which is part of a line said by Saiope ("I see, well well. A man named SANARBA asked me to do so."), instead of "Come on, go back to the village! Where is he? Where?" because the pointer pointed to the wrong place.
- An issue that I'm aware of is that when a Denjuu calls you during battle, if you don't scroll through the text, the text cuts off after two lines and you don't get to read the rest of it. The bootleg has this issue as well. So we need to limit lines that Denjuu say during battle to two lines (so far, I did the translation in the text dump). This also happens when the game tells you that the enemy's ally will be late.
- I had to shorten a few things. Examples:
- I shortened "Which Denjuu will you attack?" to "Attack which Denjuu?" because I needed to fit that into two lines. The bootleg also has this issue, where it's SUPPOSED to say "Which e-monster would you like to attack?" but instead it says "Which e-monster would you like", which is problematic.
- I shortened "Will you let it evolve?" into "Let it evolve?" because I needed to fit this onto one line (and the second line was Yes/No). If I didn't shorten it, the Yes/No wouldn't show up, and the arrow would overlap over the second line of text, which looked very awkward.
- I shortened "Select the Denjuu you want to trade!" to "Select Denjuu to trade!" because I can only fit THAT into two lines too. Much how the bootleg says "You may call by 1, select the state by Option Key." where that gets cut off. Same issue.

This is awesome beyond words... although now I'm curious as to how long it'll take before English versions of Telefang start popping up on eBay XP
