Got quoted 1800 AED for a Mercedes battery, is that reasonable or am I being fleeced?

Got quoted 1800 AED for a Mercedes battery, is that reasonable or am I being fleeced?

Post by bradleydiaz »

Called a workshop near my office today about replacing the battery in my A-Class and the guy quoted me 1800 AED including installation which felt steep but I have no reference point for what's normal. He said it's an AGM battery and that Mercedes specific ones cost more, which I sort of understand, but I've also seen people online saying they paid under 1000 for theirs. Before I commit I wanted to check if anyone here has done a Mercedes battery change for your car in Business Bay recently and what you actually paid. The thing is my car is still under extended warranty and I'm worried that if I go somewhere unofficial they might void it, but the dealership quoted me even higher so that's not really an option either. I found Battery Zone UAE which does Mercedes replacement and mentions preserving warranty which caught my attention, but I want to hear real numbers from real people before I decide anything. Did you go OEM or aftermarket, and did the price include the diagnostic and battery registration? Just trying to figure out if 1800 is actually fair or if I should keep looking.
