That FAQ is rather vague (though it makes sense once you get to that part in the game). Bansis Village (actually, it's really called Panses Village in the Japanese version) has a bunch of houses that are owned by different Denjuu. When you find Saiope, you have to enter the houses in a certain order, which he tells you. If you mess up, you have to start from the beginning. So that list in the FAQ is just the houses you have to enter.

So, no, you do not need Crypto.
