Well, this may not be smart, or might be, depending how you look at it.

Lately, iv'e been wondering where to find the bootlegs so I could buy them. Problem is, I can't find them on ebay (I know they stamped them out, but I thought a few might make it through the cracks), and the official Pokemon Diamond stamps it out.

Specifically, though I want both, I would really like to find Jade.

Any help would be appreciated ;)

I guess you can't find it. I guess I was one of the lucky last few to get the bootleg. I almost didn't get it. They cancelled my order twice before I got it.

Ah well, I figured that was the case.

Maybe if I go into the streets of big cities and browse around in some low key shop...

thanks though.

Mm, I was considering the same for quite a while but I don't think I would, since I've heard that the broken save issue extends to some of the real cartridges, making them useless for playing. D: Then again, since the japanese game uses an internal clock like Pokemon G/S/C, the internal batteries on the used copies are likely dying by now... (I lucked out and got mine new.) So while cartridges >>>> roms by far, rom is pretty much the way to go if you want to be able to save for sure. ):

Anyway, I found this and this... None with the boxes and no Jades, but even back when they were common on ebay those were about $20, which is pretty bad for a crippled game. ^^;

Thanks!

Its not really that I want to play them on cartridge (Iv'e got it on rom and I have a hacked Wii that can play it besides), but that I physically want it for some reason...if that makes sense.

on a latter note, I need to find my Crystal version. I noticed that when the batteries for other people were dying, mine was fine...

I heard that the diamond rom circulating the internet is a bad dump (not to say that the cart version isn't as bad). I think you can get the carts to save if you replace the internal battery. No way of knowing if this is true though.

My way of saving my silver version was to reset the time (so that it doesn't drain the internal battery) and leave it turned off. I hope that I can find a way to extract the save data, replace the battery, aaaand load the save data back. All while dumping all of my gameboy carts to rom format so that I can actually legally own some of my roms for once. (apparently the only way to legally own a rom is to dump it yourself)

Hmmm, I really shouldn't be giving people advice on how to find fake games, but here goes anyway. Once in a while, I've found a few fakes by searching for "pokemon diamond gbc", "pokemon diamond color", or "pokemon jade". Obviously just "pokemon diamond" won't help you at all anymore since you'll just find the real one for the DS. I've also seen authentic Telefang carts appear too, which doesn't have the save glitch.

Oh, and on the subject of batteries, both my Gold and Crystal still work, and I got Gold in December 2000 and Crystal in August 2001 (that's not long after it came out where I live). I guess that since I have barely played them in years, it's lasted longer than some other people's carts.

If I'm not wrong I have this friend of mine who bought this cartridge from Johor Bahru, which has I think 32 games, two of which are Diamond and Jade. Not so sure about Jade though, but he was unwilling to sell it to me.

If you want I might be able to persuade him to sell it, or if you want I think you might want to make a trip down to Johor and try. Or I can go one of these days when I'm free (it's just across the Causeway, but it's not like I can go out of the country)

I don't think it will be able to save though, considering that there are 32 games in 1, and there wouldn't be the capacity to save the data. And I don't think the internal clock will work too.

And as an added bonus, the cartridge also has some Pokemon hack of which I forgot the name (I think Black Diamond or something like that). Whatever, the shopkeeper was desperately trying to sell off those cartridges I guess.

I've noticed that the bootleg carts seem to be easy to find everywhere but the US.. and the few times I've seen them on eBay, they went for at least $50.
